The Power Of Cats

July 15, 2009

Have you ever thought about how powerful cats really are?  I certainly respect the power that our cat, Tiffy, has in this house!

She has so many powers over my husband and me that tend to make us much happier each day.  For instance, she calms me when I am stressed because she is always right here closeby patiently waiting for a rub or hug.   She doesn't care how long that takes because she has nothing better to do with her day than to relax either in my lap or on one of her many "perches" and give me reassurance that I am loved just by being "Tiffy".

Of course, there are times when I would probably prefer she didn't reassure me,  like in the middle of the night when I am trying to sleep and she is walking across the bed back and forth or I wake up and her idea of love is to be sleeping on the pillow above my head!  However, she is all about love and how can you not like that kind of adoration in your life??

Who doesn't  need love and adoration in their life?  It is especially important to have this as we go...

Fourth of July

June 23, 2009

Wow!  Another holiday is almost here.  Are you ready for the Fourth of July?

Remember to call me to schedule pet sitting for the holiday or for summer vacation.  I get booked up pretty quickly and already have lots of reservations for the 4th of July.

It has been extremely hot here in Raleigh the past few days.  Remember to drink plenty of water and also to make sure your provide your pets with plenty of fresh water to help deal with the heat.

Have a great day!

Feelings

June 19, 2009

When one spends a lot of time with animals I think they become more "touchy, touchy-feely, feely"!  I know I certainly have become much more sensitive to others over the years and attribute much of this to the association I have with our animal friends.

One of the wonderful things I love about animals - and I love many things about them - is their ability to touch us with their unconditional love for us.  They don't care if we have had a "bad hair day" or if we aren't wearing "designer jeans".  They just care that we are there with them and allowing them to be a part of our lives.

I can be having what I think is a very stressful day and then walk into a house and be greeted by sweet dogs or cats and the stress dissipates as I am overwhelmed by their excitement to see me.  They make me feel so "special".  What is really wonderful is they have the ability to make anyone who walks into that house feel the same way I did.  It all depends on how it is received.

Take advantage of the unconditional love your pets have for you and give them the same...

Wonderful Friends - Our Pets!

June 18, 2009

Wow!  Another holiday is almost here - The Fourth of July!!  This means lots of time with pets for me, which is, of course, terrific!

Please call or e-mail me now to get on my schedule.  I would love to spend time with your "pet friends" while you take time to celebrate the Fourth of July.

It is the time of year when the temperatures reach high levels.  Remember to keep fresh water for your dogs since they will get thirsty after being outside even if they are only out for a short time.

Have a great day.

What really touches us most about animals?

June 16, 2009

Yesterday I was on my way to pet sit a wonderful little cat who lives in an assisted living facility with a sweet little 91 year old lady who is out of town on vacation (on a cruise of all things!)  This little petite lady is full of energy and vitality and travels quite a bit.  She, of course, wants to make sure her "girl" is well taken care of and gets lots of attention while she is away.

Oh well, I am getting off the subject because I couldn't help but mention how great it is to see people of all ages live their life fully and what a difference a pet companion makes in their quality of life.

Anyway, back to my story - As I was driving along I saw a squirrel dart out in front of me and then I realized it had already been hit by a driver coming from the other direction and was trying to get off the road.  I stopped my car and watched as he scrambled to get into the woods beside the road and I was hopeful he was ok but then I realized he was dead after he hit...

Joyful Daisy Day

June 15, 2009

Monday mornings tend to be a "downer" for me after a weekend of pet sitting with lots and lots of wonderful and adoring dogs and cats!  However, this morning, after getting out of bed at 4:30 a.m. due to the prompting of our cat, Tiffany, I felt exhilerated even at this hour!  There is something about the love and attention of a dog and cat that affects us like nothing else.  Their acceptance of us no matter how we look, no matter how fowl a mood we may get in at times is unconditional.  They are always there waiting to be loved and fed.  Too bad the human race can't be so content and happy!!

We can learn a lot from animals.  I am trying every day to do a better job of appreciating what I have instead of wanting what I don't have!!

Have a "Joyful Daisy" day!
